Neighbors Witness Florida Man Bernard Marsonek Having Sex with Pit Bull
Bernard Marsonek, 57, was apprehended at his home on North Marks Street in Tampa after officers were flagged down by concerned residents who allegedly saw the suspect sexually abusing his pit bull.
According to the Tampa Tribune, several witnesses told police that they yelled at Marsonek to stop violating the animal, but he did not listen.
Officers responding to the incident interviewed Marsonek in his home, where a gun and ammunition were seized following the execution of a search warrant. Hillsborough County Animal Services took custody of eight large pit bulls found at the suspect’s home.
Marsonek faces two counts of felony possession of a firearm and sexual activity involving an animal, which was criminalized in Florida in 2011.
This is the second time a man has been arrested for allegedly raping a dog in the past 30 days. Last month, 25-year-old Steven Errante of Dix Hills, New York was charged with stealing, raping and killing a Rottweiler-Labrador mix named Beauty.
