DJ Steve Porter’s ‘Rob Ford Crack Remix’ Video Going Viral

A remix video of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford’s crack smoking admission speech is blowing up like Richard Pryor’s freebase pipe.

‘Rob Ford Crack Remix’ was posted on YouTube early Wednesday by Steve Porter, a top US-based DJ and producer. It features clips of Mayor Ford admitting he smoked crack cocaine while in a “drunken stupor” and is set to the trappy tune of Jay Z’s hit “Tom Ford.”

When asked why he decided to produce such a video, Porter, who was ranked #2 on DJ Times’ “America’s Best DJ” list in 2009, told Moral Low Ground that “crack smoking mayors don’t come around that often.”

“The Rob Ford/Tom Ford mashup just seemed like the perfect low-hanging fruit,” Porter added.

This isn’t Porter’s first foray into video remixing. “Rap Chop,” his re-imagination of the once-ubiquitous “Slap Chop” TV infomercial, has been viewed more than 14.6 million times on YouTube.
