Illinios Man Terry Wayne Davis Accused of Raping Puppy
The Telegraph reports 43-year-old Terry Wayne Davis of Alton, Madison County, has been charged with three counts of sexual conduct with an animal, a Class 4 felony, as well as one count of failure to register change of address as a sex offender, a Class 3 felony.
The fourth felony charge against Davis, a registered sex offender, stems from a conviction for forcing a 16-year-old to have sex with him when he was 33.
Fox 2 St. Louis reports Davis recently moved in with the guardian of Lucy, a 5-month-old Rottweiler puppy. That woman returned home on Tuesday to discover Davis allegedly restraining and having sex with Lucy. Davis then left the home and was arrested by police the following day.
During interrogation, Davis told investigators that he’d previously assaulted the dog twice before getting caught earlier this week.
“It’s just very troubling and deplorable for somebody to do this to an animal,” Alton Police Chief Jake Simmons told the Telegraph. “We worked this as a sexual assault case. The dog was examined by a veterinarian, and we used a rape kit. We were very serious about this.”
Simmons added that in 25 years as a police officer, he’s never encountered a case like this before.
While bestiality charges involving full-grown animals are more common, sex assaults against puppies are rare. But such things do happen. In August, 24-year-old Tennessee mother Carrie Thomas of Reagan was charged with felony crimes against nature after allegedly filming herself sexually abusing a puppy.
