Louisiana Murder Suspect Matthew Flugence Claims 6-Year-Old Victim Ahlittia North ‘Seduced’ Him
A Louisiana man accused of stabbing a 6-year-old girl to death in July allegedly told police his victim seduced him, and that he had sex with the child before killing her.
The New Orleans Times Picayune reports 20-year-old Matthew Flugence allegedly confessed to Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives that his 6-year-old step-cousin, Ahlittia North, ‘seduced’ him behind a row of Harvey apartment buildings on July 14, spreading a blanket out on the ground and inviting him to have sex with her.
“In his words, the little girl, she wanted to have sex with him,” Jefferson County detective Travis Eserman testified during a preliminary examination on Wednesday.
Flugence then allegedly raped the little girl before “snapping.” Detectives say he stabbed North four times– twice in the abdomen and twice in the neck, before watching as she writhed in agony on the blanket as her life faded away.
“He said he just watched her die” before going to a birthday party, Eserman said.
Investigators found North’s body wrapped in a blanket and stuffed into a garbage bag in a trash bin on Destrehan Avenue in Harvey, near the girl’s home.
Flugence, who faces a charge of sexual battery for allegedly sexually touching a 10-year-old girl in 2012, has not yet been charged in connection with North’s death.
Russell Flugence, the suspect’s 21-year-old brother, has been charged with failing to report a felony. Investigators allege Matthew Flugence confessed to Russell on the day he killed North.
