Las Vegas Police: Kara Vandereyk Caught Having Sex with Pit Bull in Yard
A woman was arrested in Las Vegas, Nevada on Tuesday after police officers witnessed her having sex with a dog in her yard.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that 23-year-old Kara Elizabeth Vandereyk was booked into Clark County Jail on a single charge of open or gross lewdness. According to police, officers arrived at a home on North 16th Street near Bonanza Road at around 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday and saw Vandereyk naked on the ground having sex with a pit bull in the yard.
Vandereyk allegedly said “hi” and touched the dog in a sexual manner upon noticing the officers.
Police said the woman appeared to be on drugs or mentally ill. She allegedly told officers that she suffered from bipolar disorder. She could not recall her name, what year it was or name the president of the United States, according to the police report.
Officers gave Vandereyk a blanket so she could cover herself and a neighbor gave her some clothes before she was taken into police custody. Animal control officers were called in to remove the dog.
While such arrests are rare, they do occur from time to time. The following cases have made recent headlines:
Last month, Milford, Delaware couple Samantha L. Golt and James P. Crow, ages 24 and 25, were arrested and charged in connection with an incident in which Golt had sex with a dog while Crow filmed her.
Last November, 20-year-old Brittany Angelique Sonnier of Lake Havasu City, Arizona was arrested and charged with having vaginal and oral sex with her family dogs.
Earlier last year, another Arizona woman, Sarah Dae Walker, 33, her husband Shane Walker, 38, and their friend Ribert Aucker, 29, were arrested during a sting in which the three of them allegedly used Craigslist to find a German shepherd dog for Sarah to have sex with while the two men watched.
