Terry Lee Forensics, Utah Business, Fires 2 Obama Supporters; Cites ‘Obongocare’
A Utah business owner has fired two of his Obama-supporting employees, citing higher taxes and “Obongocare” implementation costs– a racist reference to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, aka ‘Obamacare.’
The Salt Lake Tribune reports that Terry Lee, owner of Terry Lee Forensics in Cedar City, terminated two workers who voiced support for President Obama and his policies. Lee says he did this to show solidarity with the I Love Drilling smoothie bar in Vernal, whose owner, George Burnett, charges liberals a dollar more per drink.
“I love it,” said of Burnett’s ‘liberal surcharge.’ “We had to let two employees go to cover new Obongocare costs and increased taxes,” he said. “Found two Obongo supporters and gave them the news yesterday. They wanted the idiot in the White House, they reap the benefits.”
A play on Barack Hussein Obama II’s last name, citing his roots as a typical Apefrican, bongo-beating bush monkey. Best used when around those who may have a heart attack from hearing the “O” word too many times.

Lee confirmed to the Tribune that he indeed fired the employees because they were Obama supporters.
“There were other issues too,” Lee said. “They were not top performers.”
“Is your political affiliation protected?” he asked. “I don’t believe it is, but I don’t know.”
Lee is correct. Federal and Utah law do not bar employers, unless they work for the government, from terminating workers for their political beliefs.
“It doesn’t violate any of the statutes we enforce, which cover race, religion, age, gender [and] national origin,” Mary Jo O’Neill, a regulatory lawyer with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) in Phoenix, told the Tribune.
Only five states– California, New York, Colorado, Connecticut and Mississippi– prohibit bosses from firing workers for their political beliefs.
The Utah Labor Commission website states that employment in the state is “generally ‘at-will,'” meaning employers can fire an employee “without cause and without notice.”
Still, the fired workers may sue Lee for wrongful termination.
One last thing: Lee’s claim that he had to fire workers because of costs incurred implementing “Obongocare” is spurious– penalties for not providing health coverage only apply to companies with more than 50 employees.
