Aspiring Teen Model Nicole Kyaw Brutally Attacked in Kentucky Mall
A teenage model was brutally attacked by two young women, one of whom slashed her face with a razor blade, in a crowded Kentucky shopping mall on Tuesday.
Nicole Kyaw, 18, said she recognized one of the women who assaulted her as a love rival who threatened her on Facebook and warned her to stay away from her ex-boyfriend. MailOnline reports that the assailant was jealous that Kyaw had dated the young man.
Kyaw, who is employed at a store in the mall, said she was attacked around 5 p.m. as she was walking to work. She said that as the young woman she knew approached her, another female grabbed her from behind. The first woman then smiled as she slashed her face with the razor.
“She literally looked me dead in the eyes and smiled at me before she did this to me,” Kyaw told Fox 56. “She cut my face, like an ‘X’ mark, kind of.”
Kyaw said no one tried to help her, even though the mall was crowded in the middle of the afternoon.
“I literally got up on my own and ran to my job, no one helped me with anything,” she said. It was only when she arrived at the store where she worked and her manager saw her face that she realized how badly she was hurt.
“I thought I broke my nose, I didn’t think they slashed my face up like this,” she told MailOnline.
Kyaw was rushed to a local hospital, where doctors told her she was lucky to have survived the attack.
“They told me if they went down a little bit more on my neck I would be dead from losing so much blood,” she recalled.
Kyaw, an aspiring model who has worked locally, said she hopes her face will heal so she can continue pursuing her passion. The young woman seemed to take the devastating attack in stride.
“It’s just a scar on my face, but it’s going to ruin her life,” she said of her attacker.
