Former Alabama Teacher Stephanie Suggs Millard Charged for Alleged Sex with Underage Student

Stephanie Suggs MillardA former Alabama high school teacher has been charged with having a sexual relationship with an underage male student.

Alabama Live reports that Stephanie Suggs Millard, 33, turned herself in to authorities in Hoover, just south of Birmingham, on Thursday. Millard, who formerly taught at Spain Park High School in Hoover, is accused of having a sex with a 17-year-old former student in March and April. She is charged with engaging in a sex act with a student under the age of 19, a felony in Alabama, and is being held in the Hoover City Jail while awaiting transfer to the Shelby County Jail. Bond has been set at $30,000.

Hoover police spokesman Capt. Jim Coker said that the department’s Family Services Division investigated Millard after learning about her alleged inappropriate relationship with the underage boy, who is now a student at a community college.

Millard is no longer teaching at the school.
