Nebraska Teen Hannah Sabata Arrested after Posting YouTube Video Boasting about Armed Bank Robbery
A smiling young woman was arrested in Nebraska after posting a YouTube video in which she boasted about an armed bank robbery which she allegedly committed last week.
The Daily Mail reports that 19-year-old Hannah Sabata of Stromsburg, Nebraska was arrested and charged with theft and robbery for the November 28 armed robbery of the Cornerstone Bank in Waco. Sabata also allegedly stole a Pontiac Grand Am.
The teen, who was led from her home in handcuffs with a big smile on her face, confessed to both crimes in “Chick Bank Robber,” a video she apparently posted on YouTube the day of the spree.
“I just stole a car and robbed a bank,” she boasts. “Now I’m rich, I can pay off my college financial aid tomorrow and I’m going for a shopping spree. Bite me.”
In the video, which is set to a Green Day soundtrack, a marijuana-smoking Sabata holds up the keys to the car she says she stole, as well as a large fanned wad of cash totaling $6,256 that she– and police– say she robbed from the bank. Sabata claims to have robbed the bank with “a gun, a pillowcase and a note.”
Sabata called the spree “the best day of my life” and claims to be “a victim of the government.”
“The whole system is just a game,” she says in the video before adding that “the government stole my baby and charged me with neglect.”
According to Sabata’s deviantART profile:
I can stretch both legs behind my head at the same time
I can do the splits
I can stand on my head
I have HIV
I’ve been to jail
I’ve been to Boys Town
I’ve been homeless
I have ran away
My hair has been every color (yes, I promise you)
I’ve saved my grandmother
I’ve often been mistaken for Asian
But I do have 11 different nationalities!
I get straight A’s in school
Gawker reports that York County law enforcement officials said they recovered all of the stolen money save for $30. Sabata remains locked up in the York County Jail.
