Video: Abraham Andres Luna Goes on Naked Rampage through 2 Florida Counties
A portion of a bizarre, hours-long, two-county rampage by a naked Florida man was captured by a convenience store security camera.
WTSP reports that 30-year-old Abraham Andres Luna was arrested in Pasco County on Tuesday after a prolonged rampage spanning two counties.
The strange saga began when Luna was spotted wearing nothing but construction boots running around on Tarpon Springs Golf Course on Monday Evening. Tarpon Springs police responded to a call about the incident but could not find the suspect.
Several hours later, Tarpon Springs police attempted to pull over a speeding white van driven by Luna, still naked, heading north on US Highway 19. The van did not stop and officers gave chase, but aborted the pursuit when the vehicle entered Pasco County.
Shortly before 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Luna stopped at a 7-Eleven convenience store in Holiday. He then entered the store while still naked and ran amok before allegedly assaulting a clerk working there. The incident was caught on the store’s security camera.
Luna then fled the store and sped off in the wrong direction on Highway 19. Police gave chase, while other officers blocked the roadway in a bid to stop the suspect and protect other motorists. During the course of the pursuit, Luna allegedly sideswiped a police car.
The van was eventually stopped and Luna fled on foot, still naked. He was arrested shortly thereafter in Land O Lakes. He has been charged with aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, reckless driving, attempted auto burglary, aggravated fleeing to elude driving while license revoked, resisting arrest and probation violation.
The Tampa Bay Times reports that Luna, who was diagnosed with schizophrenia in 2007, said he decided to strip naked because it was a shock tactic that works in fights.
