After Obama Victory, Arizona Woman Holly Solomon Runs Over Husband for Not Voting
An Arizona woman has been arrested after running over her husband with a sport-utility vehicle, allegedly because he did not vote and she was upset by President Barack Obama’s reelection.
ABC 15 reports that 28-year-old Holly Solomon of Mesa got into an argument with Daniel Solomon on Saturday about the election and the fact that he did not vote. Holly believed her family would suffer as a result of Obama’s victory and she grew agitated in a Gilbert parking lot.
According to witnesses, there was a lot of shouting before Holly got in the Jeep SUV and began chasing Daniel around the parking lot. He hid behind a light pole but she circled it while continuing to yell at him.
As Daniel made a desperate dash for nearby Gilbert Road, Holly gunned the SUV, running her husband down and pinning him between the the heavy Jeep and a curb.
Daniel was rushed to Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Medical Center, where he remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Holly was arrested and booked on domestic violence and aggravated assault charges.
“According to Daniel, Holly believed her family was going to face hardship as a result of President Obama’s reelection,” Gilbert Police Sgt. Jesse Sanger said in a statement.
The only thing worse than Holly’s anger management skills seems to be her understanding of America’s electoral system. President Obama received none of Arizona’s 11 electoral votes, and Mitt Romney easily won the state’s popular vote by more than 200,000 votes.
