US Border Patrol Agents Kallie Helwig & Gerald Torello Jr. Accused of Oral Sex, Assault at California Cirque Du Soleil Show

Two US border patrol agents were arrested after attending a recent show at which they allegedly engaged in oral sex and then confronted and assaulted a female military doctor who had complained to security about the incident.

Agents Kallie Helweg and Gerald Torello Jr. have been placed on administrative leave after the May 27 incident, which occurred at a Cirque du Soleil performance at the Del Mar Fairgrounds north of San Diego.

The two off-duty agents were attending the show when a witness, a military doctor identified by as “Jenny,” saw them engaging in what appeared to be lewd behavior.

“Her head and her hands were moving up and down rhythmically,” said “Jenny.” “I could only assume that there was some sort of sex act being performed.”

“She had her head in his lap,” the witness told CBS 8. “It looked like her head and hand were moving up and down and it looked like she was giving him oral sex in public.”

“Two young children that were sitting in the row in front of them had turned around and were watching them.”

According to a San Diego County Sheriff’s Department report, Torello then high-fived the young boy. Several other witnesses saw Helwig going down on Torello.

After one witness used a strobe light on her cell phone to alert security officers, Helwig stopped what she was doing.

But after the show ended, Helwig and Torello confronted “Jenny.” Helwig then allegedly punched her three times in the face, while Torello allegedly fought with “Jenny’s” husband.

Photos show injuries to “Jenny’s” face. Helwig “just turned around and socked me right on my left eye,” she told CBS 8. “She got me with a punch to the right jaw and left jaw. I had a black eye and a knot in my forehead.”

Police arrived and arrested Helwig and Torello, who witnesses described as “intoxicated.” Agent Helwig was given a misdemeanor citation for battery; Agent Torello was detained for public intoxication and later released. Neither one has been charged for any sex crimes due to a lack of sufficient evidence.

Helwig told officers that “she wasn’t feeling well so she had her head on Torello’s lap and was rubbing her stomach,” according to a police report.

US Border Patrol Special Operations Supervisor Steven Pitts issued this statement about the incident:

“All CBP employees are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner while on or off duty. CBP stresses honor and integrity in every aspect of our mission, and the overwhelming majority of CBP employees and officers perform their duties with honor and distinction, working tirelessly every day to keep our country safe. CBP takes every allegation of misconduct seriously and each allegation is investigated.”

“Jenny” told CBS 8 that she is planning on suing Helwig and Torello, as well as Cirque du Soleil security and, perhaps, the Del Mar Fairgrounds operators.
