A drug-crazed homeless man tried to bite and threatened to eat a Florida police officer after being arrested for disorderly conduct over the weekend.

Brandon De Leon, 21, was arrested on Saturday in North Miami Beach and has been charged with disorderly conduct and resisting an officer with violence.

According to NBC Miami, the trouble began when De Leon and 33-year-old Brian Yerdon were arrested at a Boston Market restaurant after disturbing customers. De Leon, who blood tests revealed was high on marijuana, Xanax and Cloud 9 bath salts, a powerful psychoactive drug which can cause feelings of invincibility as well as paranoia, hallucinations, convulsions and psychotic episodes. De Leon also had a blood alcohol level of .29, more than three times the level at which a person is considered too intoxicated to drive.

After officers arrived at the restaurant, De Leon allegedly yelled “fuck you” and flipped them the finger. As the officers placed De Leon and Yerdon under arrest, the former began resisting and “tensed his body and clenched his fists,” according to the police report.

After being placed in the rear of a patrol car, De Leon then slammed his head repeatedly against the plexiglass divider and told an officer, “I am going to eat you.” As he was being treated for self-inflicted head wounds, the crazed suspect began to act like an animal and “launched to bite” the nearest officer.

“Brandon growled and opened and closed his jaw, slamming his teeth like an animal would,” the police report stated.

The animal-like behavior continued after De Leon was locked in a jail cell, police say.

Appearing in court, De Leon told the judge that he did not remember anything about his arrest.

“If I can say something, your honor, I have no recollection of anything that happened that night,” he claimed.

De Leon is being held on $5,500 bond.

His case is the latest in a string of incidents that many have dubbed the ‘zombie apocalypse.’ A wave of cannibalistic attacks, including a fatal police shooting in which a naked, bath salts-crazed man chewed off the face of an elderly homeless victim in Miami on May 27, has even led the US government to take the highly unusual step of declaring that zombies do not exist.

On the same day that De Leon tried to eat a police officer, Carl Jacquneaux, a Louisiana man possibly high on bath salts, bit a chunk from a man’s face.
