‘Douche du Jour’: Philly Mom Stacey Smalls Allegedly Murders 18-Month-Old Twins over Husband’s Affair
A Pennsylvania woman is in police custody after she allegedly murdered her 18-month-old twins and tried to kill her older daughter after she learned that her husband was having an affair.
ABC 6 reports that 41-year-old Stacey Smalls of Philadelphia is accused of drowning and suffocating the twins and attempting to poison her 4-year-old on Thursday afternoon.
Smalls allegedly committed the murders while in a jealous rage over her husband’s suspected affair with a family member.
Ron Smalls, a corrections officer, returned home from work and found Adam and Eve, his twins, near his wife, who had slashed her wrists in an apparent suicide attempt.
When police arrived at their Tacony home, Stacey allegedly told them, “I harmed my babies.”
A note nearby explains that Smalls killed the babies over her husband’s alleged affair.
“She had something she felt was justification but there is no justification,” Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsay told ABC 6. “It’s a tragedy two young babies dead and there is no excuse for that.”
The third child, who Smalls allegedly fed sleeping pills in a failed attempt to poison her to death, is recovering at at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children.
Stacey Smalls, who is also hospitalized while her wounds heal, will be charged with two counts of murder.
