US Military Taught Officers to “Wage Total War on Islam”; Use ‘Hiroshima’ Tactics to Destroy Muslim Holy Cities

Last month we brought you the story, first uncovered by Wired, of how the US military was teaching officers at its Joint Forces Staff College that “the United States is at war with Islam.”  Exactly what was being taught in the course was uncertain; it was only known that the materials were of an inflammatory nature.

Now the shocking, ugly truth has been laid bare for the world to see.

Wired has revealed that US military instructors were teaching the future leaders of our nation’s armed forces that a “total war” against Islam and the world’s 1.4 billion Muslims was necessary to protect American from terrorism and that Islam’s holiest cities could expect a fate similar to that of Hiroshima in World War II.

“We have now come to understand that there is no such thing as ‘moderate Islam,’” Lt. Co. Matthew A. Dooley taught in a July 2011 presentation titled “A Counter-Jihad Op Design Model.”

“It is therefore time for the United States to make our true intentions clear. This barbaric ideology will no longer be tolerated. Islam must change or we will facilitate its self-destruction.”

Lt. Col. Dooley proposes a four-step plan to “transform” the Muslim religion. In step three, Islam is “reduced to a cult status.” and “Saudi Arabia is threatened with starvation.” 

International laws designed to protect civilians are “no longer relevant,” Dooley argues, a “logical” extension of Bush-era doctrine which exempted enemy fighters captured during the War on Terror from Geneva Convention safeguards by designating them as “unlawful enemy combatants.” 

Therefore, being that civilians are no longer protected, Lt. Col. Dooley proposes wiping out “civilian population[s] wherever necessary” by applying “the historical precedents of Dresden, Tokyo, Hiroshima [and] Nagasaki“ in order to achieve “Mecca and Medina['s] destruction.” 

Lt. Col. Dooley is certain that the only solution to Islamic extremism is to exterminate Islam itself.

“Ultimately, we can do very little in the West to decide this matter, short of waging total war,” he asserts while recognizing that “some of these actions offered for consideration here will not be seen as ‘political correct’ in the eyes of many.”

You don’t say.

After learning what Lt. Col. Dooley was teaching to America’s future military leaders, the nation’s highest-ranking military officer, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey, ordered such courses to be cleansed of their anti-Islam elements. Dooley’s course was duly cancelled.

But the damage has been done. The revelation that such a class existed and was taught to high-ranking officers will only add fuel to the fire of those who believe that the United States is indeed waging war against Islam. Many Muslims have believed this for quite some time, even before George W. Bush declared that the US would wage a “Crusade” against Islamic terrorism in the wake of 9/11.

Later, top US general Jerry Boykin responded to the “why do they hate us” question by asserting it’s “because we’re a Christian nation. We are hated because we are a nation of believers.”

“Our spiritual enemies will only be defeated if we come against them in the name of Jesus,” he said. Boykin, who believes that Bush was appointed by God, also called Allah “an idol.”

“I knew that my God was bigger than his,” he said of a Somali warlord. “I knew that my God was a real God and his was an idol.”

The Christianization of the United States armed forces has also alarmed many Muslim observers. From Bible quotes on former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld’s intelligence reports to BIble quotes engraved on American weapons used to kill Muslims to repeated Quran desecrations to racist and Islamophobic troop training meant to demonize and dehumanize the enemy, there is plenty of ammunition for those who claim that the United States is indeed at war with Islam.

This year has been a tough one in the war for Muslim hearts and minds.  It began with a leaked video in which US Marines urinated on the bodies of dead Afghan resistance fighters. Then there was the plea deal that spared Marine Sgt. Frank Wuterich, who led his men on a bloodthirsty murder rampage in Haditha, Iraq, from serving any prison time. Twenty-four innocent Iraqis, including children, were massacred at Haditha and the perpetrators of the slaughter escaped with impunity. Then, US troops mistakenly burned Qurans, leading to violence that claimed at least 30 lives, including six U.S. troops. And in March, US Army Staff Sgt. Robert Bales killed 16 innocent Afghan civilians, including nine women and three children, in Kandahar province. That massacre was followed by yet more grisly photos of US troops posing with dead Afghan fighters.
