Former Porn Star and Charlie Sheen ‘Goddess’ Bree Olson Films ‘Naked for Kony 2012’ Video

A former adult film star who gained even greater notoriety as one of Charlie Sheen’s ‘goddesses’ is jumping on the ‘Kony 2012’ bandwagon with a provocative video she hopes will increase awareness of the plight of child soldiers in Uganda.

Bree Olson, a former Penthouse Pet who went on to star in more than 230 adult films, was named one of the top 12 women in porn in a 2010 Maxim article. She has won numerous AVN awards, including Best New Starlet of 2008 and Best All-Girl Three-Way Sex Scene for her work in 2010’s The 8th Day.

In 2011, Olson gained wider notoriety as one of actor Charlie Sheen’s ‘goddesses,’ or live-in girlfriends. She announced her retirement from the adult film industry as a result of their relationship, but the pair split last April.

The 25-year-old Olson is also socially conscious. She is a vegan and has been named an honorary ‘Lettuce Lady’ by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

Now she’s showing her support for Invisible Children’s wildly popular ‘Kony 2012’ campaign, which seeks the arrest of Joseph Kony, leader of the Ugandan rebel group Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA). Olson stars in a video titled “Naked for Kony  2012” in which she rolls around a beach in a bikini and strikes various poses in locations around Los Angeles. Despite the video’s provocative title, Olson doesn’t actually appear nude.

One might wonder, how does this contribute to solving the problem of child soldiers in Uganda? Olson explains:

“Right now you’re watching a video of me outdoors in California, interspersed with pictures of the effect Joseph Kony had on the people of Uganda. I put the two together because I know a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down.”

Some background on the cause: LRA fighters under the command of Joseph Kony commit horrific atrocities, including mass rape and kidnapping of children who are forced to become soldiers. Invisible Children’s ‘Kony 2012’ video has received more than 83 million views since going viral, although the group has come under fire for oversimplifying a complex conflict , for questionable management of donations, and for accepting donations from anti-gay hate groups.  Invisible Children co-founder Jason Russell has also made headlines recently for a very public meltdown in which he ran through the streets of San Diego in a seemingly insane state, leading to police detention for alleged public masturbation.
