‘Millionaire Madam’ Anna Gristina Arrested for Running High-End Manhattan Brothel that Sold Underage Girls to Rich & Powerful Men
A wealthy New York woman has been arrested for running a high-end Manhattan brothel where rich and powerful men bought sex with pricey prostitutes, including underage girls.
DNAinfo reports that 44-year-old Anna Gristina, a married mother of four, was indicted on February 22 by a Manhattan grand jury on one charge of promoting prostitution. She was arrested while meeting with a Morgan Stanley banker who she was trying to convince to help her expand her sordid business online. Her arrest capped a five-year investigation by the district attorney’s public corruption unit.
Gristina allegedly made millions of dollars running an Upper East Side brothel, which was frequented by many rich and powerful men who paid top dollar to have sex with a bevy of gorgeous women– and underage girls– on the ‘millionaire madam’s’ payroll. Prosecutors claim they have audio recordings on which Gristina brags about how much money she made and how she had network of law enforcement sources who would tip her off if she was being watched.
She also allegedly said she was prepared to flee the country if she was ever caught, something which undoubtedly factored into the $2 million bond that a Manhattan Supreme Court Justice imposed on her as she languishes in Rikers Island jail awaiting trial.
Gristina’s her law enforcement contacts were “poised to help her out, to let her know if there is trouble on the front that she needs to be concerned about, particularly back during the Eliot Spitzer investigation,” Assistant District Attorney Charles Linehan said at her arraignment in Manhattan Supreme Court on Feb. 23.
Gristina’s husband Kelvin Gorr told the New York Daily News that he was “heartbroken.”
“We are just a great family… and my wife means everything to me. I feel heartbroken.”
Neighbors were naturally stunned.
“It’s shocking,” a woman who lives in the building told DNAinfo. “I had no idea.”
“She looked like a normal mom,” one local resident, who did not want to be identified, told DNAinfo. He said he knew Gristina for 12 years and she was very private about her personal life and her livelihood. He said that attractive women were often seen coming and going from the building but he figured it had something to do with a sublet for college students.
