Wisconsin GOP State Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner Says Michelle Obama “Has a Large Posterior”, then Apologizes

December 22, 2011 by Brett Wilkins in U.S. Government with 1 Comment

A Republican state lawmaker in Wisconsin has apologized for saying that First Lady Michelle Obama has a fat ass.

According to Mediabistro, Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner was overheard talking on his cellphone yesterday in the Delta Crown Lounge at Reagan National Airport in Washington, DC. He was apparently upset over the First Lady’s perceived hypocrisy regarding her “Let’s Move” anti-childhood obesity campaign.

“She lectures us on eating right while she has a large posterior herself,” the irate lawmaker said to whoever was on the other end of the conversation.

Hold the phone. Take a good look at Michelle Obama. Then look at Rep. Sensebrenner. The rotund representative is in no position to be dissing Obama’s naturally curvaceous body. The woman is 47 years old– and she looks great for her age.

Sadly, Sensebrenner isn’t the only conservative to criticize the First Lady’s physique. According to the Huffington Post, reactionary blowhard Rush Limbaugh, no stranger to obesity himself, said this in February:

“The problem is, and dare I say this, it doesn’t look like Michelle Obama follows her own nutritionary, dietary advice…I’m trying to say that our First Lady does not project the image of women that you might see on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue or of a woman Alex Rodriguez might date every six months or what have you.”

Um, if those Sports Illustrated swimsuit models look anywhere near as fit as Michelle Obama when they’re 47, I’m sure they’ll be thrilled.

Sensenbrenner has now apologized for his remarks. ”I regret my inappropriate comment and I have sent a personal note to the First Lady apologizing,” he said in a statement reported by the Chicago Sun-Times. His spokeswoman, Amanda Infield, told WTMJ:

“Mr. Sensenbrenner was referring to the First Lady’s healthy food initiative. He doesn’t think the government should be telling Americans what to eat. While he may not agree with all of her initiatives, he plans to contact the First Lady’s office to apologize for his comments.”

Well, it figures! He’s a republican after all. We all know they are brainless.
