‘Douche du Jour’: Anti-Gay Indiana Republican Lawmaker Phillip Hinkle Solicited Male Teenager for Sex on Craigslist

A Republican state lawmaker from Indiana with an anti-gay voting record has been caught attempting to solicit a male teenager for sex on Craigslist.

According to the Indianapolis Star, Rep. Phillip Hinkle responded to an ad posted in the m4m– male for male– casual encounters section of the online classified site by 18-year-old Kameryn Gibson.

“I need a sugga daddy,” the ad, which included a shirtless photo of Gibson, read.

Hinkle, responding from his iPad, replied: “Cannot be a long time sugar daddy, but can for tonight. Would you be interested in keeping me company for a while tonight?” The 64-year-old lawmaker added he would “to make it worth (your) while.”

Gibson then responded: “What can you give me?”

“How about $80 for services rendered and if real satisfied a healthy tip,” Hinkle asked, adding that “for the record, for a really good time, you could get another 50, 60 bucks. That sound good?”

It did. Hinkle and Gibson got a room at a JW Marriot hotel. Hinkle disrobed and wrapped a towel around himself. But when he told Gibson that he was a politician, the teen balked. “I don’t want to do this,” he told Hinkle.

But the horny old legislator wouldn’t take ‘no’ for an answer. “You need to do this because I came and got you, and I’m not taking you back until we do what we need to do,” he said, according to Gibson’s account.

Gibson then called his sister Megan, who said she would come and pick him up right away. Hinkle again told Gibson he couldn’t leave; the teen called his sister again. This time she cursed him out on speakerphone. When that call was over, Gibson told the Star that  Hinkle grabbed him by the arm, grabbed his rear, dropped his towel and sat down naked on the bed.

Megan soon arrrived and threatened to call the police and the media to report the creepy lawmaker’s unwanted and aggressive advances. According to the siblings, he then offered them his BlackBerry, his iPad and $100 in cash.

As the Gibsons drove home, Hinkle’s wife called on his BlackBerry. “I was like, ‘Your husband is gay,'” she told the Star. “And then she was like, ‘You have the wrong person.'” Until Megan read Hinkle’s email address. After a moment of silence, the lawmaker’s wife begged her not to notify the police.

Later, the Gibsons claim that Hinkle’s wife offered them $10,000 in hush money. The Gibsons say they received one more phone call– from Hinkle himself, who was back at the JW Marriot. Megan told him she told his wife that he was gay.

“You just ruined me,” he replied.

According to Raw Story, Rep. Hinkle opposes gay marriage and has voted in favor of a constitutional amendment that would ban same-sex marriages and civil unions.

He is the latest in a long line of conservative hypocrites, overtly anti-gay lawmakers who covertly engage in homosexual activity.

Hinkle’s response? He claims he is the victim of a “shakedown.” His attorney, Peter Nugent,  issued this official statement:

“Representative Hinkle is aware of the inquiries by the Indianapolis Star and we are investigating the matter at this time. We request that everyone respect the privacy of the family at this time.”
