International Arrest Warrant for Wikileaks’ Assange
Interpol, the international police organization, has issued an arrest warrant for Wikileaks founder Julian Assange. The Australian is wanted for sex crimes he allegedly committed in Sweden. Assange, 39, is suspected of rape, sexual molestation (not child related) and unlawful coercion. He denies the accusations. Sweden had earlier dropped the rape charge against the controversial whistleblower, raising concerns that this may be part of smear tactic to discredit him and silence Wikileaks. The site has already been the target of a powerful cyberattack that has effectively shut it down in Europe and the United States.
